Child-Led Learning with HighScope

Three young children playing a card game on a colorful educational rug with alphabet and numbers in a classroom.

HighScope emphasizes active, hands-on learning.

Children make choices about their activities, explore their interests, and engage in meaningful play. Teachers act as facilitators, encouraging curiosity and problem-solving.

Children learn to make independent choices.

Each classroom is intentionally designed with well-defined interest areas where children can explore materials, collaborate with peers, and develop critical thinking skills. Each day, children engage in the 'Plan-Do-Review' process, where they plan their activities, carry them out, and reflect on their experiences.

An approach that builds confidence, responsibility, and problem-solving abilities, no matter their age.

Our aim is to support all areas of development.

This includes language and literacy, math, science, social-emotional growth, and fine and gross motor skills. By fostering a consistent, engaging environment, we empower children to become lifelong learners. HighScope provides an adaptable framework for all ages, from 6 weeks to 5 years old, ensuring that even our youngest learners benefit from responsive, developmentally appropriate experiences.

Infants and toddlers engage in sensory-rich explorations, while preschoolers deepen their problem-solving and independence through structured yet flexible activities.

Empowering children through play, exploration, and emotional connection.
